14. The Mummy’s Tomb Hallway
Turn a narrow hallway or corridor into a claustrophobic, ancient Egyptian tomb. Cover the walls from floor to ceiling with textured, stone-patterned wallpaper or painted kraft paper to resemble weathered sandstone blocks. Hang tattered, tea-stained cheesecloth and linen bandages from the ceiling, letting them brush against guests’ faces as they walk through. Place faux golden artifacts, scarab beetles, and ancient hieroglyphic plaques along the hallway floor. To complete the experience, use a low-wattage yellow spotlight at one end of the hall to cast long shadows, and play a loop of low, rumbling tomb-like ambient sounds accompanied by the dry whisper of shifting sand.
